Veles, Macedonia fire at bus station damages six vehicles

A blaze broke out this afternoon near the parking area of the bus station in Veles, Macedonia. Dry grass caught fire around 13:45, spreading to the nearby roadway and igniting six parked vehicles, which suffered only minor damage.

The Territorial Firefighting Unit (TPPE) Veles dispatched one fire engine and three firefighters, who quickly isolated the fire and prevented it from reaching additional vehicles. After the incident, the fire service urged residents not to light open fires on dry vegetation, especially during hot weather, and reminded farmers in the Veles, Čaška and Gradsko municipalities to avoid burning crop residues. The department noted that a larger fire affected the same region on 30 June, burning hectares of dry grass, vineyards and low‑lying vegetation.
