Veliko Tarnovo District Election Commission leadership appointed

Political parties and coalitions have reached a consensus on the composition of the District Election Commission (RIK) for Veliko Tarnovo in preparation for the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential elections scheduled for October 5, 2026.

Hristo Danev of the Progressive Bulgaria coalition has been elected as the chairperson of the commission. The leadership team includes deputy chairpersons Plamen Kostadinov (PP-DB), Diana Petrova (DPS), and Viktor Lyaskov (Vazrazhdane), with Silviya Decheva (GERB-SDS) proposed as secretary.

The distribution of mandates among the participating political forces was agreed upon unanimously. The Progressive Bulgaria coalition holds six mandates, while the GERB-SDS, PP-DB, and DPS coalitions each hold two, and the Vazrazhdane party holds one. The finalized documentation will be submitted to the Central Election Commission for official appointment.
