Veliko Tarnovo District Election Commission meets with Regional Governor

Regional Governor Marin Bogomilov met with the newly appointed members of the Veliko Tarnovo District Election Commission (RIK) to prepare for the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential elections scheduled for October 25, 2026.

The 13-member commission was confirmed by the Central Election Commission on September 2, 2026, following consultations with parliamentary parties and coalitions. The commission is led by Chairman Hristo Danev, with three deputy chairpersons: Plamen Kostadinov, Diana Petrova, and Viktor Lyaskov. Silviya Decheva serves as secretary.

During the meeting, Bogomilov emphasized the importance of the commission's role in ensuring a transparent and honest electoral process. He also introduced the technical team from the Regional Administration, led by Petya Raykova, which will support the election preparations. The new commission officially commenced its work on September 5, 2026.
