Venezuela Acting President Delcy Rodríguez Highlights Communal Economy Project in La Limonera
Delcy Rodríguez, the acting president of Venezuela, visited a communal carpentry workshop in the La Limonera community of Baruta, Miranda, as part of the government’s Plan Venezuela Renace, a recovery program for families affected by the double earthquake on 24 June.
She said the workshop, revived through a popular consultation, can produce up to 1,000 doors a month and has already manufactured 700 beds for temporary shelters and the “Casa de los Abuelos” homes. The project relies on timber supplied by the state company Maderas del Orinoco and is presented as a model of “communal economy” and endogenous development, with further production requests announced for new housing.
