Venezuela and Aruba restore direct commercial air route

Commercial air connectivity between Venezuela and Aruba has been restored after a seven-year hiatus. The inaugural flight, operated by Aeroparaguaná in partnership with Consorcio Helitec, connected the Josefa Camejo International Airport in the Paraguaná Peninsula to Aruba.

The initial flight carried 12 passengers to Aruba and 16 on the return leg. This follows a test flight conducted on August 16 to evaluate technical and logistical conditions for the route. While official schedules and frequencies are still being finalized by the airlines, some travel agencies in Aruba have already begun offering tentative tickets, with one-way fares at approximately $370 and round-trip tickets at $550.

Local commercial sectors in Falcón state view the reactivation as a significant development to alleviate the economic isolation caused by the lack of direct connections, which has previously limited the exchange of goods and services in the region.
