Venezuela and Ecuador secure FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 playoff paths

Venezuela and Ecuador have secured opportunities to compete for spots in the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027 through the intercontinental playoff system following the CONMEBOL Women's Nations League.

Venezuela finished in third place, earning a direct spot in the playoff Final Phase scheduled for February 2027. This phase will include six teams: Venezuela, two representatives from Concacaf, one from UEFA, and two qualifiers from the Preliminary Phase.

Ecuador finished in fourth place and must compete in the Preliminary Phase from November 24 to December 5, 2026. Ecuador will face China Taipei, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Papua New Guinea, and Ghana in a group format, with the top two teams advancing to the Final Phase.
