Venezuela and Indonesia explore shrimp production cooperation
Venezuela and Indonesia are exploring new cooperation opportunities in the aquaculture sector, specifically focusing on shrimp production. Venezuelan Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, met with Indonesian Ambassador Fikry Cassidy to plan a technical and professional visit to evaluate the productive potential of the ‘Venezuela Azul’.
The planned high-level visit will include shrimp farming companies in the states of Falcón and Zulia to assess their production capacities and processes. This initiative aims to strengthen bilateral relations through the exchange of knowledge and technology to boost the Venezuelan shrimp sector and its positioning in international markets.
This meeting follows a previous discussion held in June, where officials identified Zulia, Falcón, and Sucre as key regions for shrimp production. The ongoing cooperation seeks to consolidate the productive potential of Venezuela's maritime resources.
