Venezuela's Seniat drops mandatory RIF display for businesses

On 30 July 2026 the Servicio Nacional Integrado de Administración Aduanera y Tributaria (Seniat) issued circular SNAT/2026/4610 instructing all tax officials to stop requiring the physical exhibition of the Registro de Información Fiscal (RIF) and other tax documents that are already stored in the agency’s database. Superintendant Román Maniglia announced the change on his X account, stating that no sanctions or fines will be applied to taxpayers who do not display the RIF in a visible place.

The suspension is temporary and will remain in force until electronic and telemetric verification mechanisms are put in place. The measure is grounded in article 10 of the Organic Law for Speed and Optimization of Administrative Procedures and is presented as a step toward simplifying procedures, reducing paper use and modernising tax administration across Venezuela.
