Venezuelan authorities have arrested Gustavo Eduardo Reyes Solórzano, 28, in connection with the killing of his former partner, 21-year-old nurse Stefani Carolina Tovar Ceballos.
According to investigations by the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Científicas, Penales y Criminalísticas (CICPC), the incident occurred in April in the Guárico state. Investigators report that Reyes Solórzano lured the victim to a desolate area under false pretenses. Following an argument regarding the end of their relationship, the suspect allegedly struck Tovar Ceballos multiple times in the head with a stone, causing her immediate death. The victim's body was discovered by local residents three days after the attack.
After several months of technical and scientific investigation, including telephone analysis, officials located the suspect hiding in the Los Turpiales II residential area of Maturín, Monagas state. During the arrest, police recovered a blue Keeway Express motorcycle belonging to the victim. The suspect has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry Prosecutor's Office of Guárico state to face criminal proceedings.
