Venezuela authorities issue safety warnings following heavy rain accidents

The National Institute of Land Transport (INTT) has issued safety recommendations to prevent accidents during precipitation. Drivers are advised to check tire pressure to avoid aquaplaning, ensure windshield wipers are functional, and verify that all lighting systems are working to maintain visibility.

For motorcyclists, authorities emphasize the mandatory use of helmets and waterproof gear, as well as seeking shelter in designated areas rather than under bridges to avoid obstructing traffic. Additionally, officials in Carabobo state recommend reducing speed and increasing following distances to prevent mechanical failures and collisions in flooded streets.
