Venezuela ports integrate with Maersk, CMA CGM, and Hapag-Lloyd

The Venezuelan maritime terminals of La Guaira and Puerto Cabello have officially integrated into the operational platforms of major international shipping lines, including Maersk, CMA CGM, and Hapag-Lloyd. Managed by Bolivariana de Puertos (Bolipuertos), this integration allows these terminals to be visible and selectable within the global carriers' systems.

This technological advancement includes the implementation of the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system. The EDI platform automates the flow of operational, documentary, and cargo information between ports, shipping lines, agents, and authorities. The integration aims to facilitate stop scheduling, streamline document management, reduce response times, and minimize registration errors while improving cargo traceability.

Bolipuertos and the Ministry of Transport stated that these measures are intended to strengthen the competitiveness of the national port sector, increase cargo volumes, and align Venezuelan maritime facilities with international technological standards.
