Dinorah Figuera calls for patience regarding Venezuelan elections
Dinorah Figuera, president of the 2015 National Assembly, has called for patience regarding demands for immediate elections in Venezuela. Figuera noted that the process extends beyond mere political dialogue, involving the construction of common ground between parties with differing visions. She highlighted that the first cycle of talks resulted in agreements concerning judicial reform to appoint new justices to the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ).
The second cycle of negotiations is expected to commence on Tuesday, September 15. Figuera announced plans to return to Caracas to continue discussions with government representatives, civil society, and various professional sectors.
