Floods in Arunachal Pradesh leave nine missing as rescue operations intensify

Severe flooding in the Lower Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh's Sisseri River has swept away nine people who are now missing. A rubber rescue boat carrying seven crew members was also carried off by the flood after it saved three individuals, halting further search efforts. District officials have deployed elephants to assist in the rescue, and the Indian Air Force will dispatch helicopters from Tuesday morning to support ongoing operations. The heavy downpour that triggered the floods has already claimed three lives in the Keiy Panyor district, and authorities continue to search for the missing.

Rescue teams are using a combination of boats, elephants and aerial assets to reach areas cut off by the floodwaters, while the administration prepares additional measures to locate and recover the missing persons.
