Seniat reforms Venezuelan tax procedures and RIF expiration

Venezuela's tax authority, Seniat, has implemented a series of reforms to modernize and simplify administrative procedures. According to Superintendent Román Maniglia, the Registro Único de Información Fiscal (RIF) will no longer have an expiration date. While the document is now permanent, taxpayers are still required to update their information if changes occur regarding legal names, tax addresses, or economic activities.

Additionally, Seniat has repealed the requirement for the homologation of computer systems used for issuing invoices, a move intended to remove technical barriers for new businesses entering the formal economy.

Further administrative streamlining includes the interconnection of Seniat with the Servicio Autónomo de Registros y Notarías (Saren). This integration aims to allow data provided to Saren to be automatically incorporated into Seniat's systems, reducing the need for citizens to submit duplicate documentation. Delcy Rodríguez also ordered the elimination of the mandatory physical 'bulletin boards' that businesses previously had to maintain to display various permits and documents, as these can now be verified digitally.
