Venezuela expands justice reform consultation with new working groups

The move follows President Delcy Rodríguez’s May 26 order to create a restructuring board.

In the state of Carabobo, authorities installed working tables for the National Consultation on Penal Justice Reform. Governor Rafael Lacava highlighted the need for an integral overhaul of the criminal‑justice system, while Attorney General Larry Devoe emphasized gathering diverse perspectives from merchants, workers, engineers and public officials to build a common diagnosis. Ombudswoman Eglaé González and public defender Daniel Ramírez described the consultation as a historic opportunity for nationwide transformation of Venezuela’s penal system.
