Venezuela experiences widespread rain and electrical activity

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) has reported widespread weather instability across Venezuela, characterized by variable intensity rainfall and increased cloud cover.

On August 8, the passage of Tropical Wave No. 34 triggered cloudiness and precipitation in several regions, including Guayana Esequiba, Delta Amacuro, Monagas, Anzoátegui, Bolívar, Amazonas, Apure, Barinas, Táchira, and Mérida. In addition to the rainfall, authorities noted the presence of light to moderate concentrations of Sahara dust.

By August 9, reports indicated continued weather instability with fragmented cloud cover and electrical activity. Significant precipitation and lightning were observed in Bolívar, Guárico, Apure, Cojedes, Portuguesa, Barinas, southern Lara, southern Yaracuy, the Andes, and the Maracaibo Lake region.
