Venezuela hospital infrastructure projects show progress in Anzoátegui and Caracas

Infrastructure projects for public hospitals in Venezuela are progressing in both Anzoátegui and Caracas.

In the Guanipa municipality of Anzoátegui, the construction of the Hospital Materno Infantil María Ojeda has reached 63% completion. Current works include wall plastering, roof waterproofing, and electrical system installation. Recent developments include the installation of potable water pipes and a medicinal gas network to supply oxygen to emergency, delivery, and surgical areas. Once finished, the facility will feature operating rooms, an imaging area, pediatric and adult emergency services, and a trauma unit.

In Caracas, the rehabilitation of the Hospital Dr. José María Vargas has reached 87% execution. The project includes deep interventions in underground wells to ensure a continuous water supply. Several critical areas have already been completed, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), blood bank, operating rooms, anatomy building, and various specialized departments such as pediatrics and physiotherapy. Ongoing work focuses on hospitalizing wards, bathrooms, the main auditorium, and elevator systems.
