Venezuela implements national cattle characterization and vaccination plan

The Venezuelan government is executing the National Cattle Herd Characterization Plan and the second cycle of bovine vaccination for 2026. Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands, Vladimir Padrino López, stated that the characterization phase is nearing completion and is scheduled to conclude on December 18.

This initiative aims to provide an accurate diagnostic of the national herd size, including data on producers, land holdings, and production methods. The resulting information is intended to inform public policies regarding genetic improvement and increased livestock yields.

Simultaneously, a vaccination cycle is underway from November 1 to December 15 to strengthen epidemiological defenses. This effort includes the use of the Insai Hub, a technological platform designed to connect private veterinarians with the National Institute of Integral Agricultural Health (Insai). These measures are part of a broader strategy to ensure food sovereignty and the safe supply of meat and milk to the population.
