Venezuela launches modular housing project in Ciudad Caribia to shelter families

The Venezuelan government, led by Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, has begun rapid construction of modular metal housing units in Ciudad Caribia. After an initial inspection on July 16, crews have advanced terrain preparation and are installing prefabricated plates for durable single‑family shelters and transitional homes. Each modular unit can be assembled in about 40 minutes, with the aim of completing full dwellings daily as component kits arrive. The units feature private bathrooms, thermal‑insulated panels, lighting, and access to basic services, creating “mini‑cities” that provide families with comfortable, secure temporary accommodation while permanent housing is built.

The project is part of a broader strategy that includes credit subsidies for affected families, accelerated completion of permanent buildings, and comprehensive urban services, underscoring the government’s commitment to delivering dignified, rapid shelter solutions.
