Venezuela: Movement organized to support María Corina Machado

Venezuelan political leader and former Táchira governor César Pérez Vivas has announced efforts to organize a citizen movement aimed at securing free elections and installing María Corina Machado as president.

Pérez Vivas criticized the current administration led by Delcy Rodríguez, labeling her leadership an unconstitutional usurpation based on force rather than legitimate electoral processes. He rejected claims that the country is not ready for a new election, calling such arguments technically and historically unsustainable.

The movement seeks to demand immediate electoral conditions to prevent the current administration from remaining in power through 2030. Pérez Vivas also accused Jorge Rodríguez of using negotiation and dialogue as stalling tactics to delay a transition of power.
