Venezuela prepares field hockey and softball squads for 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games
Venezuela's men's field hockey team, which earned a silver medal and a fourth‑place finish at the most recent Central American and Caribbean Games, is targeting a podium spot at the 2026 edition in Santo Domingo. The 16‑player women's roster and 16‑player men's roster have been announced, and the competition will run from July 26 to August 4 at the Parque del Este sports complex.
In softball, Venezuela aims to retake the top position it has historically held, fielding world‑champion players from the 2025 Canada tournament and bronze medalists from the 2025 Chengdu World Games. Managed by Arturo Acacio, the squad will compete from July 26 to August 8 at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center stadium. Both teams view the Games as an opportunity to restore national pride and hear their anthem on the podium.
