Venezuela expands regional tourism through new routes and training

Various regions in Venezuela are implementing initiatives to bolster local economies through tourism development and specialized travel routes.

In La Guaira, the Ministry of Tourism and Inatur have launched an integral training plan for service providers in Chuspa and Chichiriviche de la Costa. The program utilizes the ‘5A’ tourism model—Attraction, Accessibility, Alimentation, Accommodation, and Animation—to enhance hospitality quality and support economic recovery following a seismic event in June.

In Monagas, Corpoturismo has introduced the ‘Caripe and its charms’ route. Supported by the state government, the program offers guided tours to sites such as El Guácharo National Park and the Caripe Lookout, aiming to promote inclusive and sustainable tourism while supporting local producers.

In Portuguesa, the tourism chamber PorTurismo is preparing a technical trial for the ‘Camino a Coromoto’. This 117-kilometer religious and wellness pilgrimage route is designed to connect faith and hiking, with a pilot test scheduled for September 2026 to validate logistics and safety.

Additionally, Mérida continues to promote its natural and cultural assets, including the Mukumbarí Teleferic System and various historical sites, as a key destination for domestic travelers.
