Venezuelan regional development and tourism initiatives

Venezuela is implementing various regional initiatives focused on economic development, tourism, and youth engagement.

In the tourism sector, several regions are launching specialized programs. La Guaira has introduced a training plan for service providers using the ‘5A’ model to support economic recovery following a seismic event in June. Monagas has established the ‘Caripe and its charms’ route to promote sustainable tourism in areas like El Guácharo National Park. In Portuguesa, officials are preparing a technical trial for the ‘Camino a Coromoto’, a 117-kilometer religious and wellness pilgrimage route. Meanwhile, Mérida continues to promote its natural and cultural assets, such as the Mukumbarí Teleferic System.

Complementing these efforts, the government is hosting educational and recreational programs for youth. In Caracas, the Expo Niños y Niñas Productores 2026 utilized interactive tools to introduce children to sectors such as agriculture, mining, and hydrocarbons. Additionally, in Mérida, the state government organized recreational activities and vacation plans for the children of government employees to foster family values and outdoor exploration.
