Venezuela reports hospital infrastructure upgrades and medical service updates

Infrastructure and service updates are underway across several Venezuelan hospitals. In La Guaira, the ‘Dr. José Gregorio Hernández’ Plan is driving rehabilitation efforts at the Hospital Dr. José María Vargas and the Hospital Dr. Eudoro González. At the Vargas hospital, the Neonatal Therapy unit is 100% complete, while maternity, internal medicine, and traumatology areas have reached 90% execution. Other ongoing works include laboratory improvements and elevator repairs. At the Eudoro González hospital, efforts are focused on operating rooms and plumbing maintenance to restore facilities affected by recent seismic activity.

In Monagas, the Hospital Universitario Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar reported high service volumes for the week of August 6 to August 12. The facility provided outpatient consultations to 1,955 people and managed 1,407 emergency room visits. Medical teams performed 210 surgical interventions and attended 80 births. Additionally, the hospital's pharmacy and warehouse distributed over 15,600 medications and 28,200 medical supplies to support patient treatments.
