Venezuela seeks to host 2027 Mediterranean Tourism Exchange

Venezuela has formally proposed to serve as the host country for the 30th edition of the Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo (BMT), scheduled to take place in Naples, Italy, from March 3 to 5, 2027. The proposal was presented by Tourism Minister Daniella Cabello and Consul General Javier Gómez during a meeting with BMT organizer Fabrizio Cantella.

To support international tourism growth, a memorandum of understanding has been signed with ITA Airways. This agreement aims to establish three weekly flights between the two nations starting March 30, 2027. Additionally, the Venezuelan delegation has invited the BMT organizing committee to the upcoming International Tourism Fair of Venezuela (Fitven) in December to establish technical working groups.

Domestically, the Ministry of Tourism is highlighting natural assets such as the Chorro El Indio National Park in Táchira state to promote nature-based tourism and economic development within the Andean region.
