Venezuela strengthens coastal healthcare infrastructure

The Venezuelan government has implemented several initiatives to strengthen the public health network in coastal regions. In Cuyagua, located in the Ocumare de la Costa de Oro municipality, the Autonomous Institute for the Development of the Aragua Coasts (Costaragua) delivered essential medical supplies to the local health center. The supplies include gloves, syringes, needles, medications, saline solution, gauze, and alcohol, aimed at improving patient triage and medical care.

In the Falcón state, the Dr. Lino Arévalo Hospital in Tucacas has reopened a fully rehabilitated operating room as part of the ‘Abrazando la Salud’ marathon. The renovation included infrastructure improvements such as new electrical circuits, climate control, and hypoallergenic epoxy flooring. The facility was also equipped with new anesthesia machines, electrocautery devices, multiparameter monitors, and surgical lamps. This expansion is expected to increase the hospital's surgical capacity by over 100%, allowing for more than 200 surgical resolutions per month to serve over 20,000 residents.
