Venezuela weather: Inameh warns of tropical waves and increased rainfall

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inameh) has issued warnings regarding the arrival of tropical waves in Venezuela. Tropical wave number 37 is expected to increase atmospheric instability, leading to increased cloud cover and precipitation across much of the national territory. This system is interacting with the intertropical convergence zone and the monsoon trough.

Forecasts indicate varying intensities of rainfall and electrical activity in regions including Bolívar, Amazonas, Guárico, the western plains, the Andes, and Zulia. In the central region, including Caracas, clouds are expected to increase toward the late afternoon and evening, bringing a probability of scattered rains. Additionally, authorities are monitoring the presence of Saharan dust over the Venezuelan coastal strip.

Further meteorological activity is anticipated as tropical wave number 38 is also expected to approach the country, following the movement of wave 37. Previous weather events in the Caracas area have already resulted in fallen trees and power outages due to heavy rains and wind gusts.
