Weather alerts issued for heavy rain in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Venezuela

Multiple regions in Central and North America are facing severe weather conditions. In Costa Rica, the National Meteorological Institute (IMN) has warned of heavy thunderstorms with accumulations between 60 and 90 mm in certain areas, particularly in the Pacific and Central Valley regions. High humidity and strong daytime heating are driving these conditions.

In Mexico, particularly in Chihuahua, the presence of Hurricane Polo and a low-pressure channel is expected to bring heavy rains, potentially reaching 75 mm. Authorities have issued warnings regarding electrical activity, strong wind gusts, and possible hail. In Ciudad Juárez, while rainfall is expected to decrease, officials warn of persistent flooding in streets due to accumulated water.

In Venezuela, the Inameh reports that Tropical Wave 51 is moving across the Guayana Esequiba. This phenomenon, interacting with the Intertropical Convergence Zone, is causing variable intensity rainfall across several states, including Bolívar, Amazonas, and Zulia. Despite the rain, high temperatures remain a concern, with peaks reaching up to 39°C in several cities.
