Latin America reports surge in missing persons and violent deaths

Various regions across Latin America are reporting a surge in missing persons, violent deaths, and tragic accidents. In Venezuela, heavy rains led to the death of Keylin Quintero González after she and her five-year-old son were swept into a drainage system in Miranda. While her body has been recovered, authorities continue a massive search for the child.

In Guatemala, the Police National Civil (PNC) reported 12 bodies found with signs of violence in August, potentially linked to gang rivalries. Meanwhile, in Mexico, authorities are investigating several cases, including a missing radio announcer in Oaxaca and a woman found dead in a ravine in Chiapas.

Other notable incidents include the discovery of two burned bodies of rural workers in Santa Fe, Argentina, and a national search for Maira Cabrera in Catamarca, Argentina. In Colombia, investigations are underway regarding a newborn found in a landfill in Bogotá and a young woman found dead in a Quito park.
