Venezuela women's football team announces squad for Colombia friendlies

The Venezuelan Football Federation has officially announced the squad for the women's national team, known as La Vinotinto, ahead of two upcoming friendly matches against Colombia. Head coach Ricardo Belli has called up 25 players to prepare for the 2027 World Cup qualifying playoffs.

The matches are scheduled to take place on October 10 and October 13 at the Centro Nacional de Alto Rendimiento on Margarita Island. The roster features a significant number of international players competing in leagues across Spain, Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, and Scotland, alongside domestic talent.

Key players included in the call-up are Deyna Castellanos from Tigres UANL, Ailing Herrera from Madrid CF, and Mariana Speckmaier from Heart of Midlothian. Coach Belli noted that while Colombia is currently at a higher level, these matches are essential for tactical and physical preparation.
