Venezuelan Governor Launches Monagas Solidarity Support Network for Earthquake-Affected Families

On 14 July, Venezuelan Governor Ernesto Luna chaired a meeting with medical and scientific professional bodies to establish the Monagas Solidarity Support Network. The initiative aims to provide intrafamily assistance, medical‑psychological care, school integration and social stabilization for families impacted by recent central‑region earthquakes. Representatives of the Psychologists’ College, the Doctors’ College and private gynecologists pledged free medical services, while psychologists warned of severe emotional trauma among residents. Luna emphasized respect for dignity and asked professionals to join the humanitarian effort. The network reports that 612 individuals, representing 174 families, have already received aid, accounting for about 70 % of assistance allocated to affected households from La Guaira state.
