Venezuelan Governors Sánchez and Velásquez Deliver Aid to Hundreds of Families
Governor Arnaldo Sánchez of the state of Mérida organized a comprehensive outreach day in the municipality of Sucre, providing food, medical attention, education, cultural activities and support for vulnerable groups. More than 600 families, including pregnant women, seniors and people with disabilities, received assistance and training on earthquake prevention and pet sterilization.
Governor Marisel Velásquez of Nueva Esparta handed out 200 water‑storage tanks to families in the municipalities of Antolín del Campo, Gómez, Marcano, Díaz and Villalba, aiming to alleviate the island’s water‑scarcity. She also reported ongoing work on the Turimiquire reservoir and additional water‑distribution measures.
Both initiatives are part of regional social‑welfare programs aimed at improving basic services for vulnerable residents in Venezuela.
