Venezuelan labor unions demand wage increases and political reforms

Labor unions and workers in Venezuela are intensifying demands for improved economic conditions and political rights. In Caracas, the National Union Coalition of Workers announced that a commission of leaders gathered at the Miraflores Presidential Palace to seek an audience with authorities. Their demands include the holding of presidential elections, salary increases, improved working conditions, and the release of political prisoners.

In the state of Carabobo, public employees and various unions held a demonstration in Valencia. Protesters, including representatives from the Public Employees Union of the Carabobo Government and the College of Nurses of Carabobo State, called for a dialogue with Governor Rafael Lacava. The workers are seeking the restoration of lost benefits, such as health insurance and funeral services, and are demanding that labor benefits be included in the 2027 budget calculations.
