Venezuelan leaders denounce protests following death of Carmen Navas

Pro-government figures in Venezuela accused opposition groups of inciting violence after the death of Carmen Navas, the mother of Victor Quero, who died under mysterious circumstances while in custody. Demonstrations organized in her name turned violent, with clashes between students and security forces.

President Delcy Rodríguez and deputy leader Diosdado Cabello visited Ciudad Bolívar and Cabimas, respectively, to relaunch the “National Pilgrimage” aimed at mobilising popular resistance against what they described as "the infame sanctions" imposed by opposition leader MCM. Rodríguez said, "Esta es una etapa donde vamos al corazón de la Venezuela productiva, desde todos los niveles," urging citizens to support the government's anti‑sanctions campaign.
