Venezuelan party Fuerza Vecinal backs talks between 2015 and 2025 National Assemblies

The political party Fuerza Vecinal issued an official statement on 18 July supporting a formal negotiation process that will begin on 1 August. The talks will bring together representatives from the sector of the National Assembly elected in 2015 and members of the Assembly elected in 2025, creating a new dialogue space.

Fuerza Vecinal highlighted the participation of Dinorah Figuera in opening the dialogue and said the process aims to address urgent priorities for Venezuelans, including workers' wages, reconstruction of areas hit by recent earthquakes, public services, education, health, investment attraction and job creation. The party also called for strengthening institutions by forming a new National Electoral Council and a Supreme Court of Justice, stressing that the dialogue must be inclusive of all capable actors.
