Venezuelan Red Cross launches 24‑hour water purification stations in La Guaira
In response to the June 24 earthquakes that struck Venezuela, the Venezuelan Red Cross has kept two water‑purification stations operating 24 hours a day in the state of La Guaira. The sites are a field hospital set up inside the José Luis García Carneiro stadium in Macuto and a station at Plaza Padre Machado in Maiquetía.
Both stations treat and dispense water safe for human consumption, distribute purification tablets and provide guidance on proper container use and storage. In addition to water services, the Red Cross teams offer integrated health assistance, including medical orientation and basic care, to support the community’s recovery after the seismic events.
