Venezuela's Saren launches online international document legalisation service

The Servicio Autónomo de Registros y Notarías (Saren), working with the Ministry for Foreign Relations and International Trade, has added a new digital option to its online request system. Citizens can now apply for International Legalisation of documents intended for use in countries that are not parties to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention.

The process is completed through the Saren portal: users log in, select the relevant document, choose “Solicitar Apostilla o Legalización Internacional,” complete the form, and pay the single bank fee. Once processed, the legalised document is emailed to the user and also made available for download, featuring a QR verification code and electronic signature.

The online platform now offers two services for foreign documents: the traditional Hague Apostille for member states and the new International Legalisation for non‑member states, streamlining document authentication for Venezuelan residents abroad.
