Venice museums roll out summer programs and new free‑admission days
The MUVEC – Casa delle Contemporaneità in Mestre announced a summer programme that runs until 26 September 2026, featuring extended opening hours (until 20:00 on Fridays and Saturdays), free guided tours exploring themes of body, material and urban transformation, and the “Ocio al caldo” heat‑relief project that offers a cool reading space with local newspapers. The museum also hosts a Summer Camp for children, free workshops and discounted refreshments for visitors who book the tours.
Separately, the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia extended its Musei in Festa initiative with seven additional dates (2 July, 6 August, 3 September, 11 October, 8 November, 22 November, 13 December) on which residents of the 44 municipalities of the Venice metropolitan area and Mogliano Veneto can enter all civic museums and temporary exhibitions free of charge, including Palazzo Ducale, Museo Correr, Ca’ Pesaro, the Museum of Natural History, the Murano Glass Museum and MUVEC itself. No prior reservation is required, only proof of residence.
