Venâncio Aires teens represent city at Expointer coronation and state folklore ciranda

Lawyer Larissa Almeida Maciel, the current 2ª princesa of Expointer 2025, will pass the crown and sash to her successor on Saturday, 16 May, at the Parque de Exposições Assis Brasil in Esteio. Maciel, who previously held the title of princess at the 17ª Festa Nacional do Chimarrão, said the experience allowed her to witness the scale of Latin America’s largest open‑air agricultural fair.

Sixteen‑year‑old Laura Luiza Machado da Silva, a member of the Grupo Folclórico Essência da Tradição, will represent Venâncio Aires and the 24ª Região Tradicionalista at the Ciranda Estadual de Prendas in Erechim from 21 to 23 May. Laura, who studies refrigeration at IFSul Campus Venâncio Aires, will compete in written, oral and artistic tests as the juvenile prenda for her region.

Both events highlight the city’s active participation in regional cultural and agricultural traditions.
