Venus and the Moon appear side by side in the evening sky

The evening sky features a notable celestial display where the Moon and Venus appear side by side in the western sky after sunset. Both bodies are located within the constellation Virgo.

Venus is currently visible as a crescent, approximately 48% lit, with an apparent angular diameter of 25”. To the upper left of the Moon, the bright star Spica, the brightest star in Virgo, can also be observed as twilight fades. Additionally, Mars is moving eastward through the constellation Gemini.
