Veracruz adds 47 police recruits to boost state security

On 26 June 2026 the Veracruz Secretary of Public Security graduated 47 new members of the State Proximity Police, alongside 16 new prison‑police trainees and additional municipal officers. The ceremony, led by Secretary of Government Ricardo Ahued Bardahuil on behalf of Governor Rocío Nahle García, highlighted the state's ongoing professionalisation programmes, including scholarships for children of active officers.

The graduates will serve in municipalities such as Coatzacoalcos, Minatitlán and others, expanding the operational capacity of both state and municipal security forces while improving working conditions and career development for police personnel.
