Veracruz Congress approves selection process for ORFIS head

The Veracruz State Congress has approved the call for the selection process to appoint the head of the State Superior Oversight Body (ORFIS) for the 2026-2033 period. This process will find a successor to current auditor general Delia González Cobos, whose term ends this coming September.

Speculation regarding potential candidates has emerged within the state government and the Morena party. Names being discussed include Bárbara Galindo Ramos, currently in charge of the State Comptroller's Office, and Leslie Mónica Garibo Puga, a former comptroller under the previous administration. The official call for applications is expected to be released by the State Congress following legislative approval.
