Veracruz government granted 30 days to resolve ASF audit findings
The Veracruz Ministry of Finance and Planning (Sefiplan) has 30 days to address observations made by the Superior Auditor of the Federation (ASF) regarding the 2025 Public Account. The findings total 137.8 million pesos.
According to Sefiplan head Miguel Reyes, the discrepancies are primarily concentrated in the health sector (87.4 million pesos) and the education sector (48.7 million pesos). An additional 1.7 million pesos involve the Multiple Contributions Fund (FAM), though Reyes noted this amount is nearly resolved after a provider reimbursed the funds to the Federal Treasury.
Reyes stated that Veracruz's observations represent less than 2 percent of the 7.352 billion pesos in irregularities identified nationally across states and municipalities. He also noted that pending clarifications in the state have decreased from nearly 2 billion pesos to the current 137.8 million pesos. Sefiplan is working with the State Comptroller General to submit the necessary documentation within the deadline.
