Veracruz Governor launches Papaloapan public transport service

Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García has inaugurated the Papaloapan service, a new public transportation system designed to improve mobility for over 60,000 users in the region. The service connects Carlos A. Carrillo, Cosamaloapan, and surrounding communities using six Yutong hybrid buses.

To allow residents to familiarize themselves with the new routes, the service will be free of charge until November 2. Following this period, the system will transition to a prepaid card model. The government also plans to launch a mobile application to help users track real-time travel times, departure schedules, and arrival information.

The service will operate on three specific routes: La Noria, La Colina, and Tecnológico, with two buses assigned to each. According to Enrique Santos Mendoza, technical secretary of the Trust for the Modernization of the Passenger Transport System in the State of Veracruz, these routes were selected based on local mobility needs.
