Veracruz inaugurates specialized tourism service school

Governor Rocío Nahle García has inaugurated the Escuela Veracruzana de Servicios Turísticos in Boca del Río, Veracruz. The institution offers a free two-year Higher University Technician degree in Tourism Services, providing students with professional certification and credentials.

The inaugural class consists of 128 students, featuring an inclusive and intergenerational demographic that includes recent high school graduates, individuals aged 35 to 65, and students with motor disabilities. The curriculum, developed with input from sector specialists including former federal Tourism Secretary Miguel Torruco Marqués, covers areas such as English, Mexican gastronomy, hotel operations, and digital promotion.

The project involved the rehabilitation of underutilized spaces within the Ilustre Instituto Veracruzano. The school will operate under the state's Secretariat of Tourism to ensure training aligns with the specific needs of local service providers, hotels, and travel agencies.
