Veracruz legislature sees heated debates and political celebrations

The Veracruz Local Congress experienced intense political friction during recent legislative sessions. A heated debate erupted between Morena deputies and opposition members regarding the supply of medicines. During the confrontation, Morena deputy Alejandro Porras Marín accused PAN deputy Indira Rosales San Román of involvement in a suspected 40 million peso misappropriation during her tenure at the Secretariat of Social Development, citing observations from the Superior Audit of the Federation. Rosales San Román dismissed the claims as personal attacks and withdrew from the session.

In a separate display of political activity, Morena legislators occupied the podium to celebrate the party's progress. During the session, coordinator Ricardo Monreal delivered a speech praising the movement for reversing neoliberal reforms and honoring former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and current President Claudia Sheinbaum. The celebration included the cutting of a cake labeled ‘5 years of Morena. The hope of Mexico’ as lawmakers expressed support for the ongoing political transformation.
