Veracruz legislative session political activity

Overview

The Veracruz Local Congress entered a new legislative period marked by both administrative preparations and intense political friction. Initially, the 66th Local Legislature focused on preparing for its second ordinary period, which included urgent remodeling of the Congress building to address energy efficiency and water leaks.

As sessions progressed, the political environment became increasingly contentious. Debates erupted between Morena deputies and opposition members over the supply of medicines. During these confrontations, Morena deputy Alejandro Porras Marín accused PAN deputy Indira Rosales San Román of involvement in a suspected 40 million peso misappropriation, a claim Rosales San Román dismissed as personal attacks.

Concurrently, Morena legislators used the legislative sessions to celebrate the party’s progress. Coordinator Ricardo Monreal delivered a speech praising the movement for reversing neoliberal reforms, and lawmakers held a celebration to mark ‘5 years of Morena. The hope of Mexico’ while expressing support for the current political administration.
