Veracruz Orfis complaints: only 10 of 361 reach judges

The Superior Oversight Body of the State of Veracruz (Orfis) has accumulated 361 complaints regarding irregularities in the use of public resources. However, only 10 of these procedures have been judicialized by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), representing just 2.8 percent of the total complaints.

Approximately 72 cases, or 19.9 percent of the total, were closed by the FGE after determining that no criminal action was necessary. Auditor General Delia González Cobos noted that 183 of the 361 historical complaints—50.7 percent—were filed during her current administration.

González Cobos explained that a complaint does not always lead to criminal proceedings, as audited entities may provide documentation or clarifications to resolve observations during the administrative process. Most of the complaints involve municipal authorities, though some involve state public servants.
