Veracruz Orfis head Delia González Cobos to conclude term in September

Delia González Cobos, head of the Superior Oversight Body of the State of Veracruz (Orfis), is preparing to conclude her term in September. She aims to deliver the audit report on the 2025 Public Account during the first half of September, ahead of the legal October 1 deadline, to facilitate the handover process.

Her final report will include transparency and public resource management ratings for the first year of Governor Rocío Nahle’s administration, as well as evaluations of previous municipal administrations. The local Congress has yet to name a successor for the Orfis leadership position.

The report also touches upon tensions regarding press freedom in Veracruz, noting past criticisms made by the Orfis head toward journalists and suggestions regarding the regulation of media expression.
