Veracruz political parties reorganize for 2027 elections

Political parties in Veracruz are undergoing structural reorganizations in preparation for the 2027 electoral process.

The Partido del Trabajo (PT) has strengthened its territorial structure by appointing 30 district coordinators. These officials are tasked with increasing party affiliation, reorganizing base committees, and conducting municipal work. The PT aims to consolidate its organization from local electoral sections up to regional levels, with the goal of becoming a leading political force in the state while maintaining its own voice within its current alliance.

Meanwhile, the PRI in Veracruz is working to establish itself as the primary opposition force. State leader Adolfo Ramírez Arana stated that the party is reorganizing more than 5,000 electoral sections across 212 municipalities. Despite aiming to compete against Morena, the PRI currently faces significant challenges, including declining voter support and its current position as the fifth largest political force in the region, trailing behind Morena, Movimiento Ciudadano, PAN, and PT.
